Your own ‘tent of meeting’: more than a spectator
Moses went right into the ‘tent of meeting’ and met with God face to face like a friend (v11) but the people only stood at the entrances of their tents and spectated. Read Exodus 33:7-11
Moses had a revelation of the necessity to regularly meet with God and hear from Him so he set up his own special place to go to meet with God that was away from the chaos and people in the camp.
It probably wasn’t convenient or easy for Moses, but this sacrifice shows his dedication and desire for the presence of God.
Joshua was totally addicted to ‘the tent’… Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.(Exodus 33:11 NIVUK)
Ha ha! He couldn’t leave it, couldn’t get enough! Just picture him worshipping all night on his own. If you havent already, find yourself your own ‘tent of meeting’, a place to reflect, meditate and hear what God is saying to you in your daily life; a place away from distraction and duties.
Enter into your special tent. Eliminate distractions and you just may find yourself like Joshua, swept up in His presence not wanting to leave!
