Your concealed gift
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 (MSG) Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Has God given you a gift like this that continually pushes you to your knees?
You may have never seen it in the form of a gift before because it frustrates you or even aggravates you. But it has you seeking after Him, clinging to Him and reveals your constant need for Him.
It’s something that if it were to be removed, would leave you spiritually weak. Perhaps it’s a limitation or handicap that you have asked God to remove but His reply is always ‘My grace is enough’.
Like Paul, you must see it as a gift and appreciate the work God is doing in you through this restriction. Allow Him to be glorified in it and His strength will be manifested through your weakness.
Celebrate your weakness by letting Christ take over, knowing that when you are weak, He is strong.
