When Jesus speaks the word
Luke 5:4-6 AMP
‘When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon (Peter), Put out into the deep [water], and lower your nets for a haul. And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night [exhaustingly] and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again]. And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish; and as their nets were [at the point of] breaking, they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and take hold with them.’
Peter had been toiling all night trying to catch fish. You can imagine him trying different places and different tactics into the dark hours of the night becoming tired and exhausted.
Every time he put the net back in he hoped this would be the one. But all his efforts were in vain without having received the word from the Lord to do so.
However the moment the Lord Jesus came by and spoke into his situation, giving him orders to lower the nets again, his faith rose up and a great harvest surrounded him.
What a great blessing it is to receive a word from the Lord. Just one word can make all the difference. We may otherwise go out blind with no faith or confidence and consequently end up tired and fed up without any fruit to show for it.
But when we listen to the method and timing of the Holy Spirit we will not only bring in a greater harvest, but it will be done effortlessly and divinely. The more we hear His voice, the more efficient we will become. Whatever you are facing today, pray and believe for a ‘now’ word to haul in your harvest.
