What is beauty?
In a world where beauty, glamour and looking younger dominate our culture, many are on a search to be physically attractive.
But what does God have to say about all this?
He is not that impressed by all our outward efforts to look like the latest pop star. No. His emphasis is on taking care of our inside. Are we shining His love, looking out for people, being kind, gentle and treating others well?
Are we firstly loving Him and therefore radiating His Glory? 1 Peter 3:4-6 MSG Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in. The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way, and were good, loyal wives to their husbands. Sarah, for instance, taking care of Abraham, would address him as “my dear husband.” You’ll be true daughters of Sarah if you do the same, unanxious and unintimidated.
This sort of inward beauty that God is seeking will cause a fountain of life to pour out of us and shine JESUS on the outside.
