Let your lamp shine
When speaking about my town of Gisborne, God often refers to it as a ‘city’. In my mind, it’s still the small country town it was 30 years ago! Whether it’s a small ‘city’ or big ‘city’ you live in, God wants to light it up!
To light up a city it takes many lights to all shine brightly and do their part.
“You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 AMP
As we all do our part in shining bright for God, our towns, cities and nations will light up the world.
We all have an individual role to play but are also called to put other lamps on their stands. As we lift up those around us we position them on their stands.
By encouraging, edifying and cheering on those around us we will unite and bring glory to our Father!
