Keep your oil burning
Matthew 25:1-13 (NIV)
“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. See more here
Are you like the pure virgin awaiting your saviour to come and be united with you?
Have you been cleansed by the blood of Christ, filling yourself daily with the Holy Spirit’s anointing as you meditate on scripture and pray?
More importantly are you relying on the oil of the Holy Spirit anointing to help you wait patiently for your Bridegroom?
Your oil is the continual flowing of the Holy Spirit in your life and your lamp is your spirit (your vessel). How much oil do you hold right now? Is it enough to last until your Bridegroom appears?
Jesus desperately wants to come and pick you up in His arms and take you to the place he has prepared for you. All He requires of you is that you would wait for Him without falling asleep.
This marriage requires unity, oneness and a very close relationship with the Lord.
The oil is only for you. You cannot share someone else’s relationship with God, nor can you give someone else your oil. It is given only for you because all must stand before the judgement seat of Christ and give an account.
The number ten represents testing and trial. This is exactly what this long wait for the wedding is about; a test to see if we will wait the distance before He comes, however long that might be.
The problem for the foolish virgins, was that, because the Bridegroom took longer than they had anticipated, they ran out of Holy Spirit anointing and were therefore not ready.
Don’t get impatient, He is on His way!
Keep your lamp (spirit) burning brightly for He may even come at midnight. And do everything you possibly can so that the door does not shut on you.
