How to get the upper hand over your enemy
The two things that ticked off Haman (the enemy of the Jews) are the same two things the enemy does NOT like today. In fact, if you really want to get up his nose, these two things will surely do it!
Read Esther. Esther 5:9 (NIV) says: Haman went out that day happy and in high spirits. But when he saw Mordecai at the king’s gate and observed that he neither rose nor showed fear in his presence, he was filled with rage against Mordecai.
Firstly Satan tries to get us to bow down, surrender and give over our authority to him. He attempts to wear us out in hope we give in to him. He does this by subtly putting temptations in our path in order to get us to put down our guard. Eventually we can bow to something we don’t agree with, don’t feel comfortable with or that God hasn’t told us to do. Mordecai refused to bow down to him!
Secondly, he wants us to fear him. If he can get us into fear over something, like fires, getting robbed, getting sick, losing someone, terrorist attacks etc, then he has won the victory over our minds. Mordecai showed no fear in Haman’s presence and this really irritated Haman!
So if you want to agitate the enemy and see God’s deliverance, then refuse to bow to him and rebuke fear and YOU will come out on top!
