God has heard your cry
1 Samuel 1: 6-7 (NLT)
So Peninnah would taunt Hannah and make fun of her because the Lord had kept her from having children. Year after year it was the same—Peninnah would taunt Hannah as they went to the Tabernacle. Each time, Hannah would be reduced to tears and would not even eat.
Is your enemy haunting you or making fun of you because your promise hasn’t come to pass yet?
Do you constantly battle voices that remind you of your barrenness and reproach?
The time has come to cry out to the Lord as Hannah did. It doesn’t matter how drunk or stupid you look. God hears your cry! It is through your downcast feelings, sadness and pain that the cry of your heart will erupt.
The voices against you in a time of adversity can work to spur you on toward your freedom. The enemy can only put suggestions in your mind and taunt you. However, it’s what you do with these voices that will be the determining factor toward your success.
So when attention is drawn to what you lack (the thing you are standing firm for and waiting upon), praise God because that very attention will be transferred from what you lacked to what you now possess!
